Bloomington, Ind. - It has come to the attention of Monroe Bank that the Bank’s name is being used in a phishing scam. Phishing is an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
Those receiving the email, which suggests there is a problem the customer’s online banking login and password, are advised to delete the email and disregard the message. Do not click on the link within the email message either. The email message did NOT originate from Monroe Bankand the email address, fraudprevention@monroebank.com, used as the source of the email is NOT affiliated with Monroe Bank.
Monroe Bank assures its customers that their cards and account information is safe and privately maintained as long as they do not respond to the phishing message.
